3rd TOMOCON Virtual Summer School

The 3rd TOMOCON Summer School took place this year as a fully virtual event from 27th to 29th July 2020. The event was organized by our TOMOCON institutional partner Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland. This year’s TOMOCON Virtual Summer School was dedicated to the topics of chemical process modelling, multiphase flow modelling and problem-oriented thinking.
During the three days, the participants gained new insights with presentations on CFD fundamentals, industrial crystallization reactor and process design, chemical reactions and reactor modelling, molecular dynamics modelling as well as heat and mass transfer problems in chemical engineering . At the end of the day, a wrap-up meeting concluded the lectures. The third day was dedicated to a “Problem-oriented thinking” workshop where the students learned about product optimization, innovation and creative thinking techniques.
